Although I am not writing as much as I would like, I have been reading. A grand pleasure it is to sit on the deck in the morning sun, cup of coffee in my hand, and read a book.
My latest read is the Arc of a Scythe series (by Neal Shusterman). I’ve just finished the 2nd book, Thunderhead, and there is no way I can not read the third book, The Toll (ordering now).
Although I am late to this series (first released in 2017), I am intrigued by the world Shusterman created around Citra and Rowan and the “art of killing.” The ability to world build is truly art. I am amazed and addicted to the Thunderhead, the Merican regions and the Scythedom. The Toll should arrive in two days.
Until then, I will occupy myself with The Tales of Pell by Dawson and Hearne. Currently on book three, The Princess Beard, I look forward to the humerous world fashioned within.
